Organic UK is set to feed Cardiff’s happy with free organic taster breakfasts during its 2019 #WakeUpToOrganic event
To spread the ‘feel-good’ factor of organic food far and wide, Organic UK is inviting people up and down the nation to ‘Wake Up to Organic’ and celebrate with a free organic mini breakfast.
On 12 June 2019, independent businesses in Cardiff will be throwing open their doors for ‘Wake Up To Organic’, helping to spread the joy of organic food and encouraging people to feed their happy! The day is designed to promote enjoyment and awareness of eating food that not only tastes delicious, but is also kinder to the environment, whilst proving that it doesn’t have to break the bank.
Up to 300 events across the country – in partnership with local cafes, delis, farm shops and independent stores – will celebrate organic food, showing just how easy it is to make the switch. Whether you like to kickstart your day with eggs or avocados on toast, or prefer a bowl of cereal, you and your family can enjoy food produced to the highest standards which is also naturally full of flavour, works with nature and is better for animal welfare.
Appetites for organic have never been higher, with 70%[1] of consumers saying they believe that organic food is trustworthy. In fact, an estimated £45m is spent on organic every week and sales increased to over £2.3bn in 2018. And shopping local is also proving popular, with organic sales at independent retailers growing at 6.2% (ahead of the overall market which grew by 5%), reflecting today’s more conscious consumer. There are now more and more organic options available to suit all tastes and budgets, so now is the perfect time to make a positive change.
As well as helping you enjoy mini delicious organic breakfast treats, select stores will be taking their Wake Up to Organic events to the next level, offering a range of special activities – from cooking demonstrations to the opportunity to meet local farmers and producers.
