A VILLAGE near Wrexham has been named as one of the best places to raise a family, according to a national newspaper.
Based on crime statistics and input from a home security company, the Daily Mail collated a guide to the “UK’s 24 safest spots” with Rossett taking second place to Holmes Chapel.
It says a “key attraction is that villages feel like safer places to live” and that this is particularly important for families.
The national newspaper describes Rossett as “one of the most sought-after areas of Wrexham, with just four crimes reported in February 2025”. It credits the village as offering “a strong sense of community, with schools, pubs, restaurants, shops and a pharmacy all within easy reach”.
Trevalyn Place, a Castle Green Homes development, taking shape on the edge of the village, is mentioned in the article.
Sales director Sian Pitt said: “Rossett is perhaps one of the most desirable areas of Wrexham and it’s good to see it recognised by a national newspaper. Location is often cited as the most important factor when people are looking for a new home, but when you break it down that covers a range of things such as crime rates and safety, local facilities such as schools and shops, commuter links and more.
“People who live in Rossett already know it’s a fantastic place to live and ticks all the right boxes. Many of our homeowners at Trevalyn Place are local people or those moving from other parts of Wrexham and the surrounding area.”
Current availability at Trevalyn Place includes a choice of three and four-bedroom detached homes, with prices from £389,995.
They’re designed with modern living in mind, with open plan layouts that put the kitchen at the heart of family life. Upstairs, the primary bedroom benefits from an en-suite to complement the family bathroom in most designs. Some homes feature two en-suites, plus a family bathroom and downstairs cloakroom, while in the three-bedroom Windsor all three bedrooms are en-suite.
A four-bedroom, three-bathroom detached Tatton style property is ready to move into from £649,995 with flooring throughout, Quartz kitchen worktops, spotlight package and landscaped rear garden included.
Ideal for families, the homes are being built in the catchment area for a number of sought-after schools including St Joseph’s Catholic and Anglican High School in Wrexham, Castell Alun High School in Hope and the Kings School, Chester, ranked as one of the best independent schools in the North West and ISI-rated “excellent”; plus Darland High School in Rossett.
Both Chester and Wrexham are only around 15 minutes’ drive away, giving residents the chance to embrace rural village living with easy access to the amenities of the two cities.
The show homes at Trevalyn Place are open daily from 10am to 5pm. For more information see https://www.castlegreenhomes.uk/our-developments/north-wales/trevalyn-place/
